Dead Cells: The Rogue - Lite Board Game is an exhilarating dungeon - crawler. It offers a cooperative rogue - lite experience inspired by the Metroidvania genre. You can play it with 1 to 4 players, and a game takes around 45 minutes. Dive into the ever - changing island of Dead Cells. Explore its various biomes, kill enemies, face death, mutate your character, and then do it all over again! When starting, choose one of the four Beheaded. As you're resurrected without much info, start your adventure. In the sprawling, ever - changing castle, pick your path carefully. You can upgrade character powers with scrolls or find hidden runes to unlock new paths and biomes. But watch out, as the island is full of abominations from the Malaise. Each character class has unique powers and an action card deck. For each enemy encounter, pick one action card for the whole fight. Loot equipment, gold, scrolls, and Cells from enemies to get stronger. However, your health is limited, and you'll likely die. But death isn't the end! Keep your Cells to mutate. The Collector lets you spend Cells on permanent mutations from three decks: Brutality, Survival, or Tactics. Enhance your card deck, grow your loot deck, increase health, and unlock more item slots. Then, start anew in the next loop, use your mutations to take revenge, go deeper into the island, and defeat bosses to access new starting biomes. The previously played biomes keep changing with stronger monsters and powerful items.
How to play: First, pick one of the four Beheaded characters to start the game. When exploring the castle, think carefully about which path to take. You can upgrade your character using scrolls or find runes to open new areas. When you encounter enemies, choose one action card from your deck for the fight. Loot from defeated enemies to get stronger. If you die, don't worry. You can keep your Cells and use them to buy mutations from the Collector. Then start a new loop. Things to note: Your health is limited, so be careful not to take too many risks. Also, when you die, you'll lose your scrolls, equipment, and gold. Maintenance advice: Keep your game cards and components in a dry and clean place. If the cards get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft cloth. Make sure to store all parts properly after each game to avoid losing any pieces.
