Product Information
Board Game Geek Rating: 7.14, Avg Player Rating: 7.90. This 2 - 4 player board game was published in 2016. It's the retail edition of Tyrants of the Underdark, a territory control game with deck - building. Each player leads a Drow house in the Underdark. The Drow house is represented by a card deck, where each card is a minion. Minions belong to five aspects of Drow society, each with unique strategies. For example, malice minions are great at assassinating opponents' troops, and ambition minions are best for recruiting and promoting minions to the 'inner circle' for more end - game value. Set up the game by shuffling two 40 - card half - decks (Drow, Dragons, Demons, and Elemental Evil) to create an 80 - card deck. There's a central marketplace where you can recruit new minions using influence. The other resource is power, which helps you place troops, expand forces, manipulate city happenings, and assassinate enemy troops. Players earn points by controlling sites, recruiting valuable minions, promoting to the inner circle, and assassinating troops. The one with the most points at the end wins. We're glad to support campaigns for games like this. A portion of your spend on this game will back new Kickstarter games. If you have questions, contact The Game Steward.
To play Tyrants of the Underdark, first shuffle two 40 - card half - decks together to create an 80 - card deck. Each player then takes charge of a Drow house represented by a deck of cards. When setting up, place the central marketplace. During the game, use influence to recruit new minions from the marketplace and power to place troops on the board, expand your forces, and do other actions. Try to control sites, recruit good minions, promote them to the inner circle, and assassinate enemy troops to gain points. The player with the most points at the end wins. When storing the game, keep the cards in a dry place to prevent damage. Make sure to shuffle the cards well before each game for a fair play.
